Plenty of action this week in the St Augustine area! We have been catching good numbers of Juvenile Redfish, Black Drum, Flounder and Pompano. We even had a surprise guest, an octopus, go after our live shrimp. Pretty cool to see! Live shrimp is continuing to produce good numbers of fish in the inshore waters of Saint Augustine.

The inshore fishing in St. Augustine remains really solid! We went out recently and caught a good number of nice sized Flounder. The weather has been pretty nice down here and its always great to spend a sunny day on the water! We are catching flounder in the inshore backwaters of St. Augustine, using live shrimp for the most part. Shrimp will be the primary source of food for our inshore fish species for the coming months. The Redfish fishing in St Augustine continues to be superb. We have taken a good number of guest out on our St Augustine fishing charters in search of these inshore gems. These trips have been producing a good number of high quality fish. We are catching them using live bait for the most part and we are seeing them schooled up in good numbers chasing bait at varying depths in the water column. At this point in the year the primary food source for Redfish in the St Augustine area is Shrimp. As a result we generally will use live shrimp to target these big Reds. Saint Augustine Inlet - St. Johns, FL Fishing Report on 1st Feb, 2023 - 1

Had an awesome day on the water with our clients today in St. Augustine. Not only was the fishing for Sheepshead and Redfish top notch but we also had the opportunity to check out a Right Whale that breached the surface near our boat. These Whales are really incredible creatures, they range in size from 40 to almost 60 feet! Get this, these whales can weigh up to almost 180,000 pounds and they get that big by eating mainly Krill, that is a whole lot of Krill! It was so cool to see such an amazing marine mammal up close and personal! Its not everyday that we see something like this but you wont see a whale unless you are on the water so book a trip with us today!
